Description
The following description was provided by Liz Atkin:
"With a Kickstarter Campaign, and receipt of the Simon Walker Fund from Maudsley Charity, I was able to visit Los Angeles from 25 Oct to 1 Nov to launch my solo exhibition at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. I gave 5 artist talks about my lived experience of Compulsive Skin Picking, my artwork and recovery at various sites and centres treating Skin Picking in California, including UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Keck School of Medicine at USC, University of California: Santa Barbara and OCDLA. I also met key health professionals from UCLA Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human Behaviour, Trichotillomania Learning Center and OCDLA. You can find films of the talks I gave on my YouTube page: Talk at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine Talk at USC Keck School of Medicine It helped me enrich my understanding of diagnosis, treatment, and to find out about new research into BFRBS where so little specific support or treatment exists in the UK.
